MANASSAS, Va. -- Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative and its employee-led nonprofit organization, NOVEC Hands Engaged in Local Public Service (HELPS), jointly are giving $11,000 in May to 11 area food banks in the counties NOVEC serves — Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, and Stafford. The donations are geared to helping area residents who need food because of the coronavirus, COVID-19.
“While our first priority is keeping the lights on, helping others is how we take service to the next level,” says NOVEC HELPS Executive Director Ashley Arnold.
“NOVEC and NOVEC HELPS are committed to helping our community during this uncertain time,” says NOVEC Vice President of Public Relations Lisa Hooker. “Assisting local food banks as they provide much needed food to families in need is one way we’re doing that.”
